We are now in Hoi An, Vietnam and we are staying here until tomorrow when we fly off to Saigon. The city is beautiful and isn't as crazy as Hanoi. We came in yesterday and went to lunch. I had a salad, lime chicken, dumplings and a passion fruit juice for about $6… plus the place was really nice… and they have 333 beer! (my favorite number). Then most of us went to the tailor shop to get clothes made. Dresses were $30-$75 so I'm having two made and they should be done by today. For dinner we went in the pool for a while and then ordered food poolside. This morning I took a couple sunrise shots at 5am before we went to the fish market. This one isn't as crazy as the one in Tokyo but it was still interesting to see. Studying is so hard… I'll try to keep up the good work :)

Hong Kong to Vietnam

We didn't have internet at the YMCA so I'm quickly updating at the airport. In short Hong Kong was amazing and I could live there in a second.

On to Hong Kong

A lot has happened since I last updated, mainly because I have been without internet or cant access the blog. Anywho, we went to Suzhou, Xi’an and are currently in Guilin. We leave for Hong Kong tomorrow and the other group will go to Beijing. In Suzhou we mainly saw typical Chinese gardens, in Xi’an we saw the terracotta warriors and ate at an 18 course dumpling restaurant. And in Guilin we went on a river cruise and walked around in the rain. I’ll upload some pics to remind myself of everything that we have done… basically it has been plane ride after plane ride every other day and its all blending together.

Welcome to China- Shanghai & Beijing, China

We came into Shanghai, China on the 1st and our hotel is amazing, I am sitting in our office/living room writing this and we also have a separate bedroom and huge bath with a hot tub all for the 2 of us… such a change from laying on the floor of Tatami mats! Shanghai is… intense. I love the crazy amounts of people pushing running and trying to sell you knock offs. I have adjusted to the air quality or lack there of and we went out for ice cream at night which was sooooooooo good. We just got back from our last minute trip to Beijing. We left at 6am this morning and just got back now at 1am with a 2 hour flight to and back from Beijing. So in a summary here is what we did with our 11 hours in Beijing:

Great wall- 1hr to climb up and fall back down
Lunch
Shopping
Emperor’s Summer Palace
Olympic Stadium Drive by- 10 min to run out and snap shots of the aquatics center (water cube) and the main stadium (the birds nest)
Tiananmen Square

Fly to Shanghai

A lot of people said it couldn’t be done and a lot of others thought it wouldn’t be worth it but believe me it was. We all survived the great wall and the entire crazy day. Tomorrow, or rather later today we meet up with Asia 2 so that will make 42 of us going crazy in China.
